TerrAria srl is an Innovative SME founded in 1999 in Milan with the aim of combining Information Technology with Environmental skills. Focusing on the development of open-source software, it is a leader in the development of Web-GIS solutions and applications and has twenty years of experience in environmental modeling.
Thanks to its close-knit and multidisciplinary team, TerrAria in EPICO19 is ESA’s main Contactor, implements a modeling chain for the estimation of environmental variables and deals with the development of the Web platform that integrates all project outputs into a single DSS capable of supporting Public Health technicians in the management of the pandemic.
STUDIOMAPP is a company specializing in location intelligence that has developed proprietary artificial intelligence algorithms on overhead images for monitoring large areas of interest and strategic assets, awarded and used by national and international organizations.
Thanks to the recognition of means of transport from satellite and aerial images, STUDIOMAPP will be able to quickly and with great accuracy provide information on mobility with the aim of improving the creation of forecast contagion scenarios.
The Research Center for Environmental, Genetic and Nutritional Epidemiology – CREAGEN (www.creagen.unimore.it) of the University of Modena and Reggio Emilia (UNIMORE) carries out research on the effects on human health of environmental and nutritional factors, such as e.g. air pollution, pesticides and toxic and essential trace elements, as well as infectious agents. In EPICO19, the Creagen-Unimore Unit deals with the factors that affect the course of the SARS-CoV-2 epidemic according to the peculiarities of the population in question.
